Welcome to Backcountry Cupcakes!

I'm so happy you made it here.

My love for baking comes from a love of art and good food. I've always enjoyed visiting bakeries and chocolate shops, sampling their menu, and delighting in the shop's artistic presentation. One of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon in a new place is exploring the town by foot and treating myself to a few sweet bites to eat.

 

 

Many of my fondest memories are punctuated by cakes. I can still taste the peanut butter cake my mom made for my childhood birthdays, my late grandmother's famous banana cake, and the cake my husband and I shared at our wedding. I vividly remember the cake I ate next to an alpine lake after carrying it uphill for three miles, the cake I bought myself after I got my first pay check, and the absolutely hideous cake I baked my husband for our first Valentine's Day together.

At Backcountry Cupcakes I aim to create cakes that taste as good as they look and look as good as they taste! I hope my cupcakes fill you with the same joy I feel eating a sweet treat in America's beautiful backcountry.
